New York Photographer Leland Bobbe captures two sides of the city’s drag queens in his most recent expose. The portraits feature the men is all their extravagant drag queen glory as well as the natural look that lies beneath.
“Through the power of hair and makeup these men are able to completely transform themselves and find their female side while simultaneously showing their male side.” Shockingly, the identities are composed in camera and are not separate images joined during editing.

Supermodels are hardly ever seen without the help of makeup and or Photoshop. In 2010, the casting photos for Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2010 runway show were released and became a overnight sensation on the socail network Reddit. The casting shots for the photo-shoot showed popular supermodels like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Bar Refaeli, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and more without any makeup on and completely un-Photoshopped.

The photo posted on Reddit compared the model without makeup or Photoshop against an editorial shot. Comments on Reddit included: “Seriously, though-how many of them have enormous foreheads and huge eyes? A lot of them are not attractive sans makeup. Their faces look smooshed; they’re too damn skinny. Put down the coke straw and eat a cheeseburger, ladies!” and the more poetic “coke, coke, coke ,coke, heroine, coke, heroine, heeeey that one is smiling…, coke, heroine, heroine, coke, …”

In February of this year, Complex magazine took these no-makeup casting shots as well as other black-and-whites and candids to compile a slideshow. This slideshow was made up of the no-makeup photos adjacent to photos of the models glammed-up for a job or red carpet event.
The question that come up from time to time is are these supermodels even recognizable without the help of makeup and or Photoshop? I mean seriously, couldn’t any of us alter our identity to look magnificent in a photo if we spent a few hours in the makeup room before the photo shoot, then had a gifted graphic designer fix up everything in Photoshop afterwards that makeup couldn’t?
Can you guess who the two supermodels without makeup or photoshop are in the photo above?
Although these photos are over two years old, they are still making the rounds on the internet. The question is without Photoshop and makeup are they still the drop-dead gorgeous supermodel that we expect them to be, or are they just a plain Jane?
Lea Michele of the hit T.V. show Glee was recently out and about without her usual full face of makeup. Is it just us or doesn’t this Broadway Star look amazing without the tons of thick foundation, bronzer, mascara, and lipstick! Of course she has to wear all that gunk when she’s filming or performing on stage, but we prefer the natural Lea Michelle 100%. What do you guys think, better with or without?
